THE WRITER—THE EXLIXIR of LIFE and THE PHILOSOPHICAL STONE

SCRIITORUL—ELIXIRUL VIETII si PIATRA FILOZOFALA

Motto:

“ . . . as genuine and universal artist, the writer is in the permanent search of the elixir of life and of the philosophical stone by trying continuously to solve the following four dilemmas: who/what is the writer ? the book’s destiny ? who is the true reader ? and, the fate of the writer as a genuine and universal artist ? Beyond all of these, the genuine and universal writer-artist exists from the moment when God decided that not only spoken, but also written has to be His Word. . . ”

***

(Theophil Magus)

ABOUT THE WRITER. . .

And, an infinite amount of readers is the genuine and universal writer, as well.

***

“. . . in the summer time/

stars fall in the deep night. . . and/

softly barks a dog. . . ”

***

DESPRE SCRIITOR

***

“. . . vara cad stele/

în noaptea adîncă. . . un/

cîine latră stins. . . “

***

THE BOOK’S DESTINY

The destiny of the book is part of the writer’s destiny.

But the writer is not part of the book’s destiny.

***

“. . . from the sun slowly/

are falling golden snowflakes/

. . . in a New Year dream. . . ”

***

***

“. . . soarele ninge/

domol fulgii de aur/

. . . în vis de an nou. . . “

***

ABOUT THE READER. . .

The authentic reader is the one who, on the moment of reading a book, considers the existence of the author only in the measure that everyone of us has a father and a mother.

The book which is read in this way, it lives its creator.

Who—this way—could live eternally. . . or, not.

Who—this way—will give birth to new generations of authentic readers. . . or, not.

***

“. . . the vault of crystal. . . /

the naked trees in the sun. . . /

. . . the soft November. . . ”

***

DESPRE CITITOR. . .

. . sau, nu.

THE STONES WILL CRY

About the moral, ethical writer, having dignity and being responsible into his Faith, about this authentic artist in conflict with the world, but especially in conflict with the artists and critics who are the Pharisees, the Sadducee and the Scholars of this past-present-future world, about this man and about the times when he was, he is and he will be censored, rejected, ignored with premeditation, strongly isolated, about this writer—laconic defined before—about him and his books, I remind you

only what Jesus Christ said:

“I tell you, if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.” (Luke 19/40)

“. . . the sunrise melting/

blood and gold—the ocean. . . in a/

wave shattered by the shore. . . ”

PIETRELE VOR STRIGA

(In Theophil Magus living inBoston- Anna-Maria 101 breathings, „Leonard Oprea’s dominant perspective is one of a cold objectivity, too little disposed to easy emotions, other than those hidden, profound feelings and questions. Themes are the life purpose, the ultimate springs of human actions… Intelligence, laconic sarcasm, humor, right targeting. How could we not be indebted to the author? He put his talent of storytelling to serve an exhortation which is nothing else than the health response in the presence of the morbid, the simplicity in the face of artificial, the man-loving of light against darkness and evil./Nicolae Steinhardt – European philosopher, essayist and author); “A novelist and essayist of Leonard Oprea’s literary value does not need any introduction. From no one.” /Valeriu Gherghel – European philosopher, essayist, literary critic and author)
